Types of Transmission Media

Physical transmission 


Twisted Pair Cable:-
consist of one/more twisted-pair wires bundled together. often use for network cabling & telephone systems.




Coaxial cable:-
consists of a single copper wire surrounded by three layers, an insulating material, a woven/braided metal & a plastic outer coating.





Wireless transmission 


Infrared:-
medium that sends signals using infrared light waves.




Microwave:-
radio waves that provide a high-speed signal transmission.
